Samsung's big difference this year is the variable aperture, or the ability of the camera's main rear sensor to switch between an objective f / 1.5 and an objective f / 2.4 in real time. Apart from this, we are seeing the first dual camera configuration on a Galaxy S-line phone, but only on the larger Galaxy S9 + instead of being on both models. However, both phones still feature portrait mode, but the Galaxy S9 + offers more options and better quality in this particular mode. We will compare the Galaxy S9 with the LG V30S ThinQ, and even the Google Pixel in this video as well. What is the best phone?

The Galaxy S9 with a Snapdragon SoC will feature a Sony IMX345 sensor of 12.2 megapixels for the main camera, while the Galaxy S9 units with Exynos incorporate a Samsung ISOCELL SAK2L3 sensor of 12.2 megapixels. Samsung is now launching the Galaxy S9 with a variable aperture lens, which changes between f / 1.5 and f / 2.4 depending on the light levels. The Galaxy S9 + features a secondary camera on the back with a 2x f / 2.4 optical zoom lens, and all rear cameras on any of the Galaxy S9 models feature OIS. The Galaxy S9 with Snapdragon have a Sony IMX320 sensor of 8.3 megapixels, and the versions with Exynos engine have a Samsung ISOCELL S5K3H1 of 8.3 megapixels (the same sensors of the Galaxy S8). Both models feature a f / 1.7 lens and auto focus on this front camera.
