I recently had the opportunity to play with a new Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. Regular readers will know that I have been an Apple user for a large part of the last 6-8 years, so it is very interesting for me to diversify to explore new brands and get to know Android.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 – first look

The tablet is a very good 9.7 "device, although it has a wide bezel around the screen, but it seemed unusual right away, just because Samsung's new Galaxy phones are basically the whole screen, but this screen is still The tablet is incredibly thin with a good rounded edge, it feels good to hold it in your hand and it is not slippery There is also a physical start button on the face that works like a fingerprint scanner.

The device comes with a special pen that allows you to write on the screen or control the tablet.

Although I could not test this feature, you can also connect a magnetic keyboard to the S3 Tab to help provide an easier writing experience if you are going to use it as a laptop.
Introducing the Samsung S-pen

Samsung galaxy tab s3 how it works The pencil is relatively small and weighs almost nothing. Several smart pens that I have tried before are fat, bulky, heavy and make writing very uncomfortable. Samsung's pen feels like your favorite pen; the one you want to take constantly when you need to take notes.

Using the pen to write on the screen is a surprisingly comfortable experience. If you have ever used a stylus on a glass screen before you know it, it feels weird, but in this case the contact of the stylus with the screen feels much more natural, almost as if you were placing a pencil on paper. Nothing of that scraping of metal to glass.

Surprisingly, the pen never requires a charge, I think it's because the technology is integrated into the screen instead of the pen. So it's really just acting like a stylus. The small 0.7 mm pencil tip is very natural for writing. Unlike other pens or pencils, it is not blocking the view of the letters that are forming behind the pen.
