In the world of technology, there is an expectation that we will get more for our money next year than we did this year. Or, we can get today's features at a lower price tomorrow. GoPro apparently has a different philosophy. Recently, the company introduced a new flagship action camera, Hero6 Black, for $ 500. The Hero5 Black remains in the product line at $ 400, the same price it had when it was released a year ago (the Hero5 session also maintains its original price of $ 300). This gives customers a less-than-ideal option: get last year's features at the same price, or jump to the latest and best at a new and higher price.

The first thing that jumps over the Hero6 Black is, well, nothing. It looks identical to Hero5 Black, save the "HERO6" mark and the logo of a power button on the power button, um (Hero5 labeled the button for its secondary function, labeled HiLight). It is very easy to confuse Hero6 with Hero5, so if you have both cameras, you can put a sticker on one to clearly differentiate it.

But do not let the familiar exterior deceive you; Hero6 is not a mere incremental improvement. It presents a series of new features, many of which are possible thanks to a custom designed processor called GP1. Frame rates have increased in all areas: 4K can be shot at 60 frames per second (fps) and Full HD 1080p at up to 240 fps, which is twice what the Hero5 could do at those resolutions.

If you are a pioneer and do not mind spending a little more money, you will be very happy with the Hero6 Black.
